Throughout the third quarter of 2024, the top five maps and navigation apps on the Android platform in the Dominican Republic showcased diverse performance trends, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of downloads and active user engagement.

Phone Tracker experienced a dynamic quarter, with weekly downloads starting at approximately 8.5K in early July and peaking at nearly 59.5K by the week of July 8. However, this was followed by a gradual decline, ending the quarter with around 1.7K downloads. The app's weekly active users also showed a fluctuating pattern, starting at about 5K and reaching a high of 92.5K in mid-August before settling at around 77.3K by the end of September.

inDrive. Save on city rides maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, beginning with about 14.8K downloads and ending with approximately 11K. The weekly active users saw a slight decline, starting at over 208K and concluding the quarter at around 171K, indicating consistent engagement despite the gradual decrease.

Uber - Request a ride demonstrated a steady download trend, beginning the quarter with about 8.9K downloads and maintaining a consistent range around 7K to 7.5K for the remainder of the quarter. The app's active user base remained robust, starting at over 311K and fluctuating slightly but ending on a high note with nearly 320K active users.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a stable quarter in terms of downloads, starting at approximately 6.2K and maintaining a consistent level around 6K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users showed a steady increase, beginning at about 87K and peaking at over 91K in early September, before slightly declining to finish at around 89.5K.

Finally, Phone Tracker and GPS Location experienced an interesting trajectory, with downloads initially low at around 3.6K but spiking to over 16K by late August. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at approximately 14.9K and reaching a peak of over 30K in late August, before settling at around 18.7K by the end of September.
